Team HLD in Macau - Monday, March 22, 2010

My dear friend Shefali, who happend to be the associate director of IIfa awards introduced me to the Venetian Macao, and before we knew we had an invitation from the Venetian team.
fter completing our shoot in Hong Kong we headed to Macao on a cotai jet ferry .It took us one hour to reach Macao.
Out side the ferry terminal a luxurious Maybach was waiting for us, the ride to the hotel took about 10min.

The Venetian Macau-Resort-Hotel  has 3,000 elegant suites, each measuring at least a spacious 70 square meters. These luxurious suites are all divided into a split level, making the sunken living room the perfect place to read, relax or even do business. The detailing in the interior room design ensures not only aesthetic appeal but also comfort and functionality. What more could one want out of their hotel room?\r\nThe 10.5 million square feet of The Venetian Macau Resort Hotel features stunning replicas of the famous canals and architectural icons of Venice, Italy and also a recreation of the world famous Venetian Resort Hotel Casino of Las Vegas. Twice the size of the Venetian in Las Vegas, this hotel includes a Renaissance Venice themed retail venue, international restaurants, a theatre, an arena, upscale and gaming facilities that offer a uniquely Asian gaming experience and it also has one of the largest meeting, convention and exhibition areas in all of Asia.
The Venetian Macau also houses a large casino, a massive gaming area, a breathtaking shopping esplanade, extensive exhibition and convention facilities, dozens of restaurants, and top-caliber entertainment. Staying at The Venetian Macau sure is a unique highlight of our trip to Macau
We were very well received by the team of Venetian, immediately after checking in we started shooting .
* We started with shopping-
With more than 330 internationally renowned stores, offering the best in fashion, jewellery, accessories, gifts, services and sporting goods, all under one blue sky, and the colorful (Streetmosphere) performers to keep us entertained, there is nothing more I could ask for right now! Sheer retail bliss!

*After that I headed for the romantic Gondola ride,
The Gondola is a flat-bottomed Venetian rowing boat, traditionally used as the main mode of transport within Venice and even today it has a role to play in public transportation. There is nothing like a graceful and romantic glide over the Grand Canal in an authentic Venetian Gondola. To float beneath bridges, besides cafes, under balconies and through the vibrant Venetian streetscape gives you the same charm and romance of being in the glorious city of Venice…

*Being a fashion enthusiast I wanted to check out the luxury brands at the four seasons shoppes,  The Shoppes at Four Seasons is the first luxury shopping mall in Macao. With the finest variety of more than 160 luxury brands, this 211,000 sq feet mall is indeed the heart of the premier Cotai Strip and gives its guests a distinct and unique shopping experience

*Dinner at Postifino, Stylish and contemporary setting, with the most delicious Italian dishes makes Portofino the perfect way to end our day. The rich aroma of bell peppers and sun dried tomatoes in the pasta, and the cheesiest pizzas all add up to a perfectly delectable treat)

Visit at the Moet and Chandon bar – the only one in asia\r\nThe unique interiors of the first Moët & Chandon Bar, which apparently is the very first Moet & Chandon bar in Asia, has been designed by Hong Kong based Marc & Chantal Design. The approach is of a bottle of Moet & Chandon being opened into an explosion of bubbles giving the feeling of celebration, and the soft glowing lights add an ambience of style, sensuality and harmony.
Day 2
Started with Malo\r\n•    Malo spa
The MALO Clinic Spa Macau offers a brand new concept in wellness, and is set to be the world’s largest facility of its kind. This 120,000 square-feet spa features a Clinic, a Spa, a Beauty Lab, Leisure & Fitness facilities and a team of wellness therapists who have been recruited from around the world to deliver the highest standards of services. The Malo Clinic Spa is indeed one of the finest spas I have visited offering world class products and services in a paradise-like environment.
•    IIFA WALL at the venetian
When this picturesque hotel played host to the 10th IIFA Awards, the wax statute of the legendary actor Mr Amitabh Bachchan was unveiled for all to see. The wax figure, dressed in a traditional black sherwani suit with a heavily embroidered gold and black shawl, was specially flown in from Madame Tussaud New York’s Bollywood Zone.
•    Room Amitabh stayed in at the venetian\r\nThis is the very suite where great actor and IIFA brand ambassador Mr Amitabh Bachchan had stayed when he attended IIFA 2009. It was his very first visit to Macau and the staff too, enjoyed their brief encounter with him. Mr Bachchan on the other hand, was very impressed with his suite and even said that this was the largest room he has ever stayed in, in his entire life!
•    Four seasons hotel and lobby
Amidst stellar entertainment and duty-free shopping is where the Cotai Strip’s most intimate and elegant Four Season’s Hotel Macau is nestled. Offering supreme luxury and comfort, the interiors feature much of the Indo-Portuguese heritage with touches of old Macau, and yet offer the best in  high end comforts which promise a refreshing getaway for their guests.\r\n•    Plaza mansion piazza Luxury suite\r\nPlease give me some information on this. Could not google anything substantial
•    Macau tour – steet shops, saint Patrick church,  temple, macau tower\r\nMacau is soon becoming one of Asia’s most popular destinations for business, leisure and entertainment. Although better known for gambling, Macau is extremely rich in attractions, thanks to hundred years of fusion between European and Chinese cultures.
A fascinating place to just walk around as the place is packed with churches, temples, fortresses and other old buildings bearing an interesting mix of Portuguese and Chinese characteristics. The street shops sell various things like accessories, jewellery, watches and other delightful knick knacks.
We visited the famous St Patrick’s church as well as the ancient temples, and also got a good view of the Macau Tower, the tallest building in Macau, reaching 338 meters high. From the top of the tower you can enjoy the highest bungee jump in the world, going down 231 meters.
Top end luxury and old world charms, this city indeed has something for everyone.)\r\n•    Bellini – Live performance\r\nIf you hear live music while you are walking the casino floor, it’s definitely coming from the Bellini Lounge. A variety of dancers, singers and musicians from all over the world perform here day and night breathing life into the city
•    Zaia – Circque du soleiel at the venetian
ZAİA,.. this musical masterpiece unites dance, movement, aerial acrobatics and brings  together 75 mind blowing performers from all around the world in one of the most impressive theatres ever created by Cirque du Soleil , to enthrall each and every one of the 1,800 spectators present…. Perfect harmony, flawless body movements and a faultless performance that I won’t forget in a long long time…
Back in Honk Kong\r\n•    Cathay pacific – CX CITY AND CATHAY LOUNGE IN HONGKONG

The high energies, the amazing people and sheer beauty of this place will surely bring me back here again some day.. But all great things come to an end and for now it was time to say goodbye to my beautiful haven and gear up for my flight back home, where I look forward to getting a nice long comfortable nap…the award winning Cathay Pacific Lounge where I received VIP treatment. I’d like to say a big thank you to my airline sponsors Cathay Pacific for making this journey so smooth for me and my team.
Designed to refresh the body and soothe the mind, this truly innovative airport lounge provides a unique environment for work, rest and play before getting on board. Everything from peaceful reading rooms to exquisite spas, tempting restaurants and all 5 star luxuries are offered to its passengers who enjoy their waiting time at the airport
And if you think shooting is all serious business, think again.. cos we at High Life Dubai have had a picnic putting this show together for you… watch the fun, the masti and the madness that goes on behind the scenes on High Life Dubai
It was a very Hectic trip, by the end of it we were exhausted but it was great experience and a lot of fun.
All charged up for the next exotic destination.
love
